Overview

This tour includes a delightful seven nights' stay in two of Russia’s iconic metropolis

Russia is vast and varied – both culturally and geographically. Enormous icy cold wasteland dominates the eastern part, while the west plays host to sprawling, cosmopolitan cities. From subtropical coastlines to dense, shadow-clad forests, there is plenty to do in the world’s largest nation.

Our exclusive action-packed stay in the land of Soviet tsars and Stolichnaya vodka will see you revel in the sights and delights of St. Petersburg and Moscow  – two of the country’s most iconic cities.

Starting off in a port city sitting by the Baltic Sea, St. Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great in the early 18th-century. With theatrical venues, operatic oeuvres and world-renowned museums galore, the city is a breeding ground for art, history, and culture.

One of its must-sees is the Winter Palace and Hermitage Museum – both housed in the same gloriously captivating building dating back to the late 1760s. The city is beautifully displaying a collection of over three million pieces spanning the globe, this enormous palace-museum; is one of the city’s prime attractions – home to the works of Rembrandt, Leonardo and Michelangelo.

After that, pay a visit to Peter and Paul Fortress (the burial site of the Romanov Tsars) or fall in love with the jazzy-toned Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood – Russian architecture at its finest.

After gawping at techni-colored spires and candy-colored domes, take a wander through the gardens of Peterhof Palace. Bursting with manicured lawns and gushing water features, the gardens offer a breath of fresh air and are ideal for serendipitous strolls.

Next is your train from St. Petersburg to Moscow! What a better way to end your tour than experiencing the capital of Russia? Here, you'll get to throw yourself at the mercy of galleries, museums, and palaces.

Your first port of call might be Red Square, nestled in the city’s epicenter and fringed by St Basil’s Cathedral, the State History Museum, and Lenin’s Mausoleum. This means you can tick off plenty of things on your bucket list all within a couple of hours.
Last but never least, stand in line for the chance to gawp at the embalmed body of Lenin at his mausoleum, wander over to GUM (Russia’s main department store) for a bit of a splurge, or take a tour of the Kremlin museum complex.

Breakfast at the hotel

Meeting with the guide. Peterhof (palace and park) located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, 34 kilometers from St. Petersburg, spectacular Peterhof attracts thousands of tourists with its parks, palaces and, mainly, fountains. Among the suburban parks, Peterhof is probably the most famous for its fountains and is thus frequently compared to Versailles. ‘The Samson’ of the grand cascade is the most powerful and magnificent of them and thus has been made a symbol of the park. As a former residence of the emperors, Peterhof is also the home of several palaces with the grand palace as its main landmark. It had been destroyed by the Nazis and then carefully restored as to exhibit the splendor of the royal way of life. The beauty of Peterhof, its marvelous fountains and palaces has left nobody indifferent, and you will probably be no exception.

Pushkin (palace and park) the summer palace is the heart of Tsarskoe Selo (tsar’s village) – one of the most picturesque parks among the former residences of the Russian Emperors. Here you may feel the atmosphere of the royal way of life in its entire magnificence. It is hard to believe that almost everything inside the palace is a result of a careful restoration, which has been finished just 8 years ago. Nowadays the legendary amber room, where this precious resin covered the walls in a magnificent and shining style, as well as the radiant interiors have finally regained their former splendor after they suffered from severe damages during World War II. Today tourists from all over the world come to the Pushkin to see the marvelous park and the Catherine’s palace, definitely one of the most impressive highlight of every visit to Saint Petersburg.
